The OG
2023
On September 14th, 2023, the first-ever Lids by Ly hat launched. The idea that came to me while I was half-asleep on the lifeguard chair, had suddenly turned into a massive box of 144 blindingly white truckers. The box rode shotgun in my dad’s minivan as I headed to Eugene for sophomore year armed with nothing but a spreadsheet, a dream, and a prayer that I hadn’t just flushed all my savings down the drain.
Round 2
2023
After shockingly selling all 144 hats in a month, people started to request more colors. I hand delivered every single hat, tracked everything on my spreadsheet and kept my fingers crossed that I tracked all finances correctly. 144 more hats showed up at my door and this time in 3 different colors.
Drop 3
2024
More patterns, more colors, more styles. Camo launched, flat bill and all black. At this point I realized that my favorite part of running Lids was advertising. I was editing lids onto people all over instagram and running around tailgates hustling drunk students.

2025
Continued making more colors, more styles, delivering every single hat by hand. I get to meet every person that has ever bought a lids and thank them, which has led me to meet so many amazing people.
